Life After the First Year
After those first weeks of trial and error, I finally began to see my keto weight loss results take shape. It wasn’t just about the number on the scale — it was about having energy again, walking without constant pain, and feeling like myself after years of struggle.
If you haven’t yet read Part 1 where I share hitting rock bottom at 297 lbs., or Part 2 where I show exactly what went into my first keto grocery list, you might want to start there before continuing. This chapter is about what happened after those first steps — living with the results.
When I first started keto, I never imagined just how much my life would change. Today, I can run up stairs without stopping, without pain, and without fear. The same steps that once left me clinging to the railing are now effortless. My cane — the one that was by my side for months — is no longer needed. It sits tucked away, a quiet reminder of the version of me I left behind.
Beyond the Scale
Back in March 2024, the scale showed 297 lbs. That number crushed me. Today, I’m down 75 lbs and still moving forward. But the weight loss is only part of the story. The real victory is the freedom: freedom from chronic pain, freedom from immobility, and freedom from feeling stuck in a body that didn’t feel like mine anymore.
Lessons Learned
Keto wasn’t always easy. There were cravings, slip-ups, and days when the “keto flu” made me question everything. But those moments taught me that progress isn’t about perfection — it’s about persistence. I learned that tracking more than just the scale mattered. Energy, mood, mobility, strength — those became the markers of success.
Where I’m Headed
This is only the beginning. I’m healthier, stronger, and more confident than I’ve been in years. My goal is to keep building on these habits, try new recipes, and share everything I’ve learned with others who are ready to take control of their health. If my story can help even one person believe change is possible, then every struggle along the way was worth it.
If you’re ready to start your own journey, stick around. I’ll be sharing recipes, tips, and resources to make keto simple and sustainable — the same tools that helped me lose 73 lbs and get my life back.
